Being established in 1895, John Binns & Son is proud to be one of the oldest spring manufacturers in the world. However, anyone taking a tour round the company’s purpose built factory in Skipton would instantly recognise that the company is also at the forefront of modern spring and wireform production.

In recent years John Binns has invested heavily in the very latest manufacturing technologies and can now boast eleven CNC machines. These machines, with laser and camera measurement controls, cover a range of production of wireforms and compression, tension and torsion springs from 0.3mm up to 12mm. (The company has additional semi-automatic capacity for the production of springs in larger wire sizes as well.) New additions to the range of CNC machines are constantly being considered and there is a further spring coiler on order.

John Binns’ newest acquisition is the ITAYA RX20. The RX20 is a CNC machine which can produce torsion and tension springs and wireforms from 0.5mm up to 2mm. The new machine increases John Binns’ range for these types of part.
