John Binns has recently completed a 3D printing project for an aerospace company that has resulted in a new and unique spring design. The project involved a small torsion spring that was to fit in a restricted slot. The original spring would not work within the space available. John Binns was asked to re-design the spring so an urgent retrofit could be undertaken.

Thanks to our 3D production facility we were able to print a working model and design a spring that was suitable for the application. This is yet another example of how useful 3D printing can be to any manufacturer looking to push forward with new designs or solve problems with existing applications.
