The first part of the 2016 annual John Binns trophy event was held at Matrix Bowling in Skipton. It was a close affair between Mark Holdsworth and David Whitfield. David won this game, as the second leg is go-karting in December and David drives like an old man, the smart money will be on Mark.

The result of the EU referendum will lead to a period of uncertainty and significant, as yet unknown changes in the economic and political landscape of the UK and Europe.  Whilst these changes will be beyond the control of the company, John Binns remains committed to providing our customers, in the UK and Europe as well as further afield, with excellent quality, service and value for money.

Water Street Primary School have been learning about forces and John Binns provided a spring for them to demonstrate a pushing force.  John Binns has also helped Threshfield School by powdercoating their playground equipment.  As the thank-you card said said, “They look cool!”

John Binns & Son is committed to maintaining our excellent quality standards.  This video shows a laser being used on one of our Wafios FMU machines.  These lasers allow dimensions of parts to be tightly controlled.  The company has invested in the very latest inspection equipment including digital camera technology and 3D printed inspection jigs.  Alongside the skill of the workforce this investment puts John Binns at the forefront of quality manufacturing.

Over the years John Binns & Son has supplied springs for a huge range of uses.  Recently, however, there was a notable first as the company was asked to supply springs for CBeebies’ production of Furchester Hotel starring the creatures from Sesame Street, such as Elmo and the Cookie Monster. Chloe, the 2 year-old daughter of managing director, Alex Driver reportedly commented, “This demonstrates John Binns’ flexibility in being able to supply high quality products into any sector” or maybe [...]

As an example of our capabilities in the smaller wire gauges, here is a clip of our Itaya RX20 machine, which can produce torsion and tension springs as well as wireforms from 0.5mm diameter up to 2.0mm diameter wire.  This again adds the range of parts that John Binns can offer.
