The 13th annual rounder’s tournament in memory of Trevor Driver and Jo Fletcher saw last year’s winners, Skipton Sloggers, retain their title.

The contest is held in memory of Trevor Driver, who sponsored the Springboks through JB Springs, and Jo Fletcher, a rounder’s player who died suddenly in 2005.

Nine teams – Skipton Sloggers, Settle, Bentham, Cowling, Springboks, Silsden, Embsay, Bradley, and a joint team, Threshfield, and Kettlewell, battled it out throughout the day in the wind and rain at Sandylands Sports Centre in Skipton.

After a hard contest, the final was between Skipton Sloggers and Settle, with the Sloggers coming out on top.

The organisers would like to thank their sponsors, The Castle Inn Skipton and everyone involved who helped to raise £340 which will go to Manorlands Hospice and The Paediatric ward at Airedale Hospital.
