Happy Easter to all our customers and suppliers. We are looking forward to fighting over who gets the biggest egg and the springy eggcups.

John Binns can use its rapid 3D prototyping coupled with our expertise in spring design. This video shows how we took a prototype valve from drawing board through to production.

Ever the romantic, John Binns managing director, Alex Driver has been searching high and low for that ideal Valentine’s gift for his wife.  “We all know that cards are a bit cheesy and flowers just a cliché,” explained Alex, “but this heart design, made on one of our CNC wireforming machines and available in a choice of fetching colours, courtesy of our powdercoating plant, ticks all the boxes for that perfect present.”

January saw the 9th anniversary of the tragic death of Trace Aldersley. The Silverback Golf Day has been held in his memory every year since; the total raised for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance now stands at over £20 000. Trace was a great friend of several employees of the company and John Binns was proud to support the day in memory of the great man.

Over the years we have been asked to help with springs for a huge variety of uses. However, modern art was not an area we had previously covered. We were delighted therefore when we were recently asked to supply springs for the Modern Art Oxford project. We think the result looks great. John Binns is very proud of the skilled team we have here. We recently welcomed apprentice Joe Wright to our team. Joe joined us in October. No pressure Joe, but your brother, Tom Wright was an award winning apprentice.

Congratulations to Nicola Driver and her rounders team, the Springboks, who recently won the Trevor & Jo Trophy. Having narrowly lost last year, this year’s success was all the sweeter. The rounders tournament is hosted every year in memory of Trevor Driver (who sponsored the team from day one) and Joanne Firth. Jo was a member of the team who died very suddenly of a brain haemorrhage.

John Binns has recently welcomed two new starters to the sales and customers service team. Mei Tam and Gitana De Meulder will be helping with all aspects through quotes and order progressing. They love springs already!
