A Look Back

Carrying on with our historical accounts and also as the company prepares for the arrival of new machinery here’s a look back to 1976 when John Binns & Son were in the process of purchasing a paint line. Here is a letter rediscovered recently regarding the enquiry. The new machinery that is currently on its way to the company has a few noughts on the end of the price quoted here!

Looking Forward to the Future

During 2015, we will be increasing our core manufacturing range thanks to the arrival of new machinery and, to accommodate this, we will be expanding our factory. A large proportion of this improvement will focus on production in the larger wire diameters up to 20mm. Further details to follow.

3D prototyping

John Binns has recently completed a 3D printing project for an aerospace company that has resulted in a new and unique spring design. The project involved a small torsion spring that was to fit in a restricted slot. The original spring would not work within the space available. North East Manufex Exhibition

On Wednesday 19th November John Binns exhibited at the Manufex exhibition in Newcastle. The show was a great success with many people visiting us to see what we had to offer. John Binns even became somewhat of a ‘must see’ at the exhibition as our giant spring amazed punters young and old. John Binns would like to thank everyone who came to see us and made it a great event.

Dave Heigold 30 years at John Binns

Congratulations to Dave Heigold who has passed 30 years here at John Binns. We are very proud and grateful to have such experienced employees such as Dave and Ian within our company. Dave has undertaken many roles and now works in our powder coating shop and has developed a great level of skill in providing fantastic quality on alloy wheel refurbishments as well as other powder coated finishes.

‘Boks Spring Back to Winning Ways

Congratulations to The Springboks who have won the annual Joanne Firth Rounder’s Tournament. The event was held at Settle Cricket Club and was organised by the Settle Rounder’s Team who won the trophy in 2013. John Binns have been proud sponsors of the Springboks for 19 years.
