John Binns' website now includes a compression spring design calculator. This is at beta testing stage, let us know if there is any feedback you wish to give. The calculator has been designed to the standard BS EN 13906-1:2002 (cylindrical helical springs made from round wire and bar - calculation and design).

Following a project involving John Binns Springs from an early stage, Giggleswick A-Level students recently presented their finished products. Production director, Christian driver, had assisted the students with their design ideas with a focus both on engineering and commercial aspects. The recent unseasonal spring weather has meant it has been a challenge for the staff at John Binns to get to work, although the difficulties are nothing when compared to those the local farmers are suffering. This was the scene, which Alex encountered on his way to work. Undeterred, he walked.
