JB Springs recently manufactured and donated a batch of wireform hearts to Gargrave Church of England Primary School in Skipton who were taking part in Gargrave village’s Open Gardens event on Saturday 16th June. At the end of March, Carolyn Greenwood retired after nearly 30 years with JB Springs. Carolyn was predominately responsible for handling our accounts but also had a number of other roles and responsibilities at the company. A special lunch was held in her honour at which managing director, Alex Driver, thanked her for her tremendous contribution to the company. Everybody at JB Springs wishes her the very best for a long and happy retirement.
Last month we welcomed the Year 10 pupils of Skipton Girls' High School to the factory, who were visiting a number of local companies to broaden their awareness of different engineering organisations. In any engineering industry there are physics involved, raw materials and processes, which all align with the curriculum content within the GCSE Engineering Specification. The latest video in our Springtelligence video series will show you the winding direction of a spring. If two compression springs have to operate together (one inside the other) it is important for them to be wound in opposite directions, this will prevent the coils from getting entangled.
We were delighted to welcome members of the Keighley Association of Engineers to our factory last month.
