In December, John Binns successfully renewed its ISO certification.  Once again the audit did not find any non-conformancies.

John Binns has recently welcomed members from two of the local schools’ sixforms. The Design & Technology A’level students from Giggleswick School enjoyed a tour of the factory and were able to view some of the latest spring and wireforming technologies in operation. They have been offered the opportunity to design products, which will be prototyped at John Binns, as part of their course. Adam Savoury, who runs the goods outward department at John Binns has thankfully decided to despatch his moustache, which he grew for this year’s Movember campaign. Movember aims to raise awareness of men’s health issues, particularly testicular and prostate cancers. Adam was part of a local team that raised several hundred pounds for the cancer charities associated with the campaign. After completing a year of work experience at John Binns, Rob Chew has left (temporarily we hope) the real world of work to return to his studies at Leeds University. Rob took a year out from his course to obtain some valuable, commercial work experience, which should stand him in good stead when he re-enters the job market. To augment the very significant investment that has been undertaken on the latest spring making machinery, the company has also invested in technology for use in its inspection department.
