John Binns has recently completed a 3D printing project for an aerospace company that has resulted in a new and unique spring design. The project involved a small torsion spring that was to fit in a restricted slot. The original spring would not work within the space available. North East Manufex Exhibition

On Wednesday 19th November John Binns exhibited at the Manufex exhibition in Newcastle. The show was a great success with many people visiting us to see what we had to offer. John Binns even became somewhat of a ‘must see’ at the exhibition as our giant spring amazed punters young and old. Congratulations to Dave Heigold who has passed 30 years here at John Binns. We are very proud and grateful to have such experienced employees such as Dave and Ian within our company. Dave has undertaken many roles and now works in our powder coating shop and has developed a great level of skill in providing fantastic quality on alloy wheel refurbishments as well as other powder coated finishes.

The Show Must Go On

John Binns regularly gets asked to look at resolving problems for customers.  Two recent, one-off projects illustrate this. New Recruits

In addition to investing in the very latest production machinery, John Binns is investing in building the skilled workforce required in the modern manufacturing environment.  Over the last two months three new apprentices have been taken on.  It is hoped that they will develop into expert springmakers and become a valuable part of the John Binns’ team for the years ahead. Local Schools Visit John Binns

John Binns has recently welcomed members from two of the local schools’ sixforms. The Design & Technology A’level students from Giggleswick School enjoyed a tour of the factory and were able to view some of the latest spring and wireforming technologies in operation.
