Work is already underway at Skipton Girls’ High School as they prepare to enter several teams in the Land Rover 4X4 In Schools competition again. JB Springs hosted engineering and motor vehicle students from Keighley College as part of Bradford Manufacturing Weeks. Russell Baker, the college’s motor vehicle course leader thanked the JB Springs team adding that feedback was really positive with students gaining a lot from the visit. JB Springs is pleased to welcome our new intake of apprentices who, alongside their college studies, will be trained on various roles on the shop-floor as well as our Springtelligence programme. Richard Gaunt has also recently joined us in a production support and quality role. Christian, Steve, Tom, and Joe (and Kevin the Robot) recently completed their robot training with RARUK Automation. JB Springs recently acquired a robotic arm that needed to complete Springtelligence training before it joined the production team. Some of the JB Springs team also had to learn how to use the UR10 E series robot. Over the summer several JB Springs employees took part in the Northern Total Warrior and Tough Mudder events. The Gargrave Warriors raised £10,000 for new IT equipment for Gargrave Primary School at the Great Northern Total Warrior in Braham Park. The Total Warrior challenge is a 12k course that includes obstacles like the ‘Human BBQ’, ‘The Plunge’ and ‘The Shocker’. As part of Bradford Manufacturing Week JB Springs will be welcoming two groups of students from Keighley College. Bradford Manufacturing Week takes place from 7th to the 18th of October. On the 20th and 21st, July JB Springs attended the Bradford Science Festival for the first time. The Bradford Science Festival is a free weekend full of fascinating science. This year’s festival explored a range of themes, including space travel, chemistry and caring for the environment. Held at Bradford’s National Science and Media Museum, the weekend was jam-packed, and provided hands-on discovery, exploration, and fun for people of all ages.
