On Tuesday 11th October, as part of Bradford Manufacturing Week, South Craven school visited our site at JB Springs in Skipton for a tour and a talk.

It was a pleasure to welcome them here and show them ‘behind the scenes’ of spring manufacturing! We first gave a presentation about who we are and what we do here at JB Springs, before a guided tour around the myriad of machines down on the shopfloor – which were busy creating our compression springs, tension springs and torsion springs, and wireform parts.

Simon Griffin – their Design & Technology teacher who accompanied the students on their visit – contacted us saying:
‘Thank you so much for the visit. The students had a great time and it will be a huge benefit to them all as they embark on their engineering journey. Thanks again for your time, knowledge and Springtelligence!’

It’s fantastic to be able to accommodate site visits once more, to inform and inspire the next generation of local engineers. Many of the students showed an interest in our work and our industry – asking insightful questions and taking home some Springtelligence to use in their future engineering careers.
